Which Scratching Post Is Best for My Kitty?

 

 

 

Choose a sisal-covered post. Sisal is rough and a good material for kitty to rake his claws through. Don’t go for carpet-covered posts — they’re too soft, and the carpet loops can trap your cat’s claws. These posts also send a mixed message: The cat won’t understand why he can scratch the post but not the rug in the hall.
