Last June 7, 2025, we opened our doors to new faces—and welcomed back familiar ones—for a special Volunteer Orientation and General Assembly held at the PETA Theater. With 35 passionate individuals in attendance (20 new volunteers and 15 returning ones), the day was filled with learning, laughter, and a shared love for animals.
The event began with heartfelt opening remarks from CARA President Ms. Nancy Cu Unjieng and Ms. Eleanor Agulto. They set the tone for the day, sharing what it means to be part of CARA and reminding everyone of the impact we can create together.
Volunteers were introduced to CARA’s mission, vision, and the many services we offer—from spay/neuter programs to rescue and rehabilitation. We also shared a bit of CARA’s history, milestones, and the heart behind our work. Icebreaker games throughout the day helped everyone loosen up and connect, making the gathering feel more comfortable and enjoyable.
Each volunteer team took the floor to present their roles and responsibilities, giving newcomers a better idea of how they can get involved. The Q&A session that followed was lively and engaging, with volunteers asking thoughtful questions and showing eagerness to jump in and help. Everyone also showed their support by purchasing CARA merchandise!
As the program came to a close, everyone was treated to a hearty and delicious meal generously sponsored by our longtime partner, CIBO. Their support added a special touch to the day and gave everyone the chance to sit down, relax, and connect over great food. We’re incredibly thankful to CIBO for always being there to fuel the work we do for animals in need.
Everyone’s enthusiasm and passion give us hope that a more compassionate world for animals is truly possible if we all work together. You can be a part of our growing family, too! Sign up to become a CARA volunteer at www.tinyurl.com/VolunteerAtCARA 🐈🐕
