On July 19–20, 2025 CARA Welfare Philippines brought their compassion-driven CNVR efforts to Malapascua Island, Cebu, through ISLA ALAGA, a spay/neuter and rabies vaccination mission held at the Logon Covered Court. Focused on the island’s stray dog and cat population, the project aimed to humanely manage the free-roaming animal population — making the island safer, cleaner, and healthier not just for the animals, but for the people who live alongside them.
🌴 A Mission to Make the Island Safer for All

Through the support of kind-hearted donors, we raised ₱380,934 to fund the mission. That generosity translated into 225 cats and dogs spayed/neutered and protected against rabies. Our staff, vets, and volunteers braved rough seas and strong winds from the storms just to reach the island — because every life saved is worth it. We want to give a special shoutout to our President, Nancy H. Cu Unjieng, who was on the ground throughout the mission, leading the effort with a tireless heart and hands-on dedication.
🙏 Gratitude to Our Supporters

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this mission possible. To our incredible partners and sponsors — PAHA, PVMA, Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), Vets Love Nature, Drs Rey and Levi, Blanco Beach Resort, Mama’s Kitchen, Evolution, Agila Strong, Angelina Resort & Restaurant, Malapascua Scuba, Ocean Vida, Hippocampus Beach Resort, and Tribal Huts Community — thank you for standing with us.
We also thank Brgy. Logon and Kapitan Lemuel Daño for welcoming us, and extend heartfelt appreciation to Congressman Sun Shimura, Board Member Kerrie Shimura, Mayor Gilbert Arabis, Vice Mayor Ali Abucay, and Ma’am Shallet Jumao-as of the Maya Tourism Office for their unwavering support and generosity.
And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported our fundraising efforts — because of your generosity, we were able to reach our goal and make this mission possible. Every peso went toward changing lives, and we’re so grateful to have a community that believes in compassion and action!
🐾 Help Us Keep Going
With every CNVR mission, we move one step closer to a more humane and sustainable future. Please continue supporting our work so we can reach more places, change more lives, and build more compassionate communities — one island, one animal at a time.
