From multi-day events to unveiling a brand new look—March was a busy month for CARA! Here’s how we spent the last month of Q1 2025.
🐾 New PAWtnerships
CARA x Pawssion Project
CARA teamed up with another passionate animal welfare group, Pawssion Project, to share best practices in cat and dog management and other collaborative projects for the benefit of animals. This exciting partnership will surely help further both groups’ missions to help animals in need!
CARA x The Hungry Paws
People can now support CARA through The Hungry Paws’ promos, or by donating products to our facility by buying directly from their stores. You can also look forward to CARA pop-up booths at their branches in the future!
🕊️ Justice for Ken
CARA filed charges against a Chinese national this March following an unprovoked kicking of a cat which resulted in its death.
Ken was a beloved community cat from Ayala Triangle Gardens and was resting at the park on January 4 this year, when a Chinese man approached and kicked the cat hard enough to cause severe injuries. Ken was brought to CARA by a concerned citizen and received medical treatment but unfortunately died from his injuries three days later.
CARA employed the public’s help to find the Chinese national, identified as Jiang Shan, and filed a criminal case against him. As of April 2025, the man has been charged with the violation of The Animal Welfare Ac of 1998, RA 8485, sec. 6 as amended by RA 10631. CARA will continue to see the case through until justice for Ken is fully served.
💉 Vaccination Drives
Continuing our mission to help as many animals as we can, CARA went on two vaccination drives this March—Illumina Vaccination Drive (which we do yearly) and another one at Karrivin Plaza.
❤️ Donations
We received generous donations from some kind people this March! A huge thank you to Dunsk Kuhner, Luxuri Pets, Team Bigo Live, and Mars, Incorporated. Your support means full tummies and happy tails for the animals under CARA’s care.
🐱 Pet Summit Philippines 2025 🐶
CARA ended the month by attending the three-day long Pet Summit Philippines! The event was filled with activities, talks, and fun. From humane education to finding forever homes for our animals, the event was a reminder of how powerful the animal welfare community can be when we combine our efforts.
We are forever grateful to all our volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who visited our booth to support our cause.
🐈 New Look, Same Promise 🐕
Along with our attendance to Pet Summit Philippines, we launched the new CARA logo and branding. The rebrand aims to represent CARA with a fresh and modern approach, while continuing our 25 year-long mission of promoting Compassion and Responsibility for Animals.
✨ Looking Ahead
While March may have been busy and tiring, we know it’s all worth it! A jam-packed month means we are moving further into our advocacy and mission. At the end of the day, CARA is dedicated in helping all the animals we can.
