Animals in Action!
Last March 16, CARA volunteers and CARA Ambassadogs Ginger, Kimchi, and T-bone visited Summit School for their Animals in Action event! They had many activities involving animals and we were honored and excited to be invited to talk about Animal Welfare and Responsible Pet Ownership.

CARA senior volunteer Eric Suguitan, who heads our education team, shared tips on how to be responsible pet parents, encouraging the students to share their own pet stories.
Everyone was eager to share stories!
Some who have never had a pet hesitated to approach the Ambassadogs–but the kids warmed up quickly enough once they realized that our furbabies were so sweet. They petted and waved at the doggies.
“A pet is a lifetime responsibility,” Eric said. “They can’t speak the way we do, so we have to help them out.”

After the talk, the kids had their opportunity to walk the Ambassadogs. They took turns walking Kimchi who is now blind, carefully guiding him around corners and obstacles. They held his leash with gentle hands and walked slowly, making sure he wouldn’t bump into anything.
