July was another busy month for CARA, with milestones in spay/neuter, adoptions, education, and donations. Hereโs a look back at what we accomplished together:
๐ ISLA ALAGA: A Success in Malapascua

On July 19โ20, CARA brought ISLA ALAGA to Malapascua Island, Cebu. In just two days, a total of 225 dogs and cats were spayed and neutered. This massive effort will help reduce the stray population on the island, ensuring healthier, happier communities for both animals and people.
(See our full ISLA ALAGA blog for behind-the-scenes photos and stories!)
๐พ Ongoing CNVR Efforts
Our CNVR (Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return/Relocate) program continued in full swing this July. Thanks to partnerships with villages, condominiums, and barangays, 144 cats and 8 dogs were spayed and neutered.
Active CNVR areas include Newport Blvd, Dasmariรฑas Village, Magallanes Village, Manila American Cemetery, Solstice Tower Condominium, Circuit Makati Estate Association, Brio Tower Condominium, Trion Tower, Vierra Residence, Brgy. Wack-Wack, Tivoli Garden, Lexington Village, Pacific Malayan, Cats of Ortigas, Cats of California Garden Square, San Lorenzo Village, Barangay Bel Air, Cats of BGC and Cats of McKinley.
Each surgery means fewer animals born into a life of struggle on the streets โ and weโre grateful to all communities working with us to stop the cycle.
๐ก Adoption Highlight

This July, Angel โ one of our lovable adoptables โ found her forever home! She was adopted by Tanna Gonzales on July 14. Congratulations to this new family, and hereโs to many happy years ahead! ๐
๐ Events and Activities

July was filled with opportunities to connect with partners and strengthen our advocacy. On July 5, we held a CNVR Team Orientation to improve coordination and strategy for our growing CNVR work.
Later in the month, on July 18, we joined Pet Expressโ Cat and Dog Expo at SMX Convention Center, where CARA was gifted a generous โฑ15,000 shopping spree. Our ambassadog Bravo happily joined the fun and charmed attendees.
On July 19, CARA met with officials of Barangay 901, Sta. Mesa, Manila to discuss Community Cat Management, where we introduced CNVR as a humane and effective approach to controlling the stray population.
๐ Generous Donations
We are deeply thankful to the Tuban family for their donation of cat & dog food and cleaning supplies, as well as to Citibank for their generous gift of 17 boxes and 9 bags of cat & dog food. Your generosity helps us stretch our resources further and provide for the animals that depend on us.
๐ Moving Forward
From 225 island spay/neuters to strengthening CNVR agreements, from adoptions to donations, July showed us once again the power of community and compassion.
Together, we are building a kinder world for animals โ one surgery, one adoption, and one act of generosity at a time.
